There may be instances when you try to access your Microsoft Outlook application only to realize that your files are damaged, and worse, even lost. Most of these cases occur when your MS Outlook PST files have become corrupted; preventing you from gaining access to your emails, address book, calendar, attachments, and other important data that helps you organize your life better. You will need to restore PST files that have been damaged in order to open your MS Outlook program once again. One way to remedy damaged PST files is to get to the root of the damage, which may be caused by corrupted files. These errors, when left untreated, can result to massive loss of data. You can utilize PST recovery software to help you fix these files and recover all your important information. The first thing to do would be to use your PCs ScanDisk, one of Microsoft Windows built-in utilities, to go through your hard drive for possible errors that may be causing your MS Outlook application to go haywire. If ScanDisk cannot detect any error in the hard drive, then you can readily assume that the problem lies in your MS Outlook PST Files. You can use the PST repair tool, also known as the Scanpst.exe to check, repair, and restore PST files in your Microsoft Outlook program. The built-in Scanpst.exe will detect and remedy corrupt PST files, as well as recover the files that have been lost. It is recommended that you open the recovered files after Scanpst.exe has scanned and fixed them in order to restore PST files that you were unable to access before repair.
